Every day is a new beginning.
It's a cliché, but it is true.
Standing here looking forward into a new decade, a new century, a new millennium, as I begin this new website I wonder:
"What might it become?"
I hope that WhatDoWeKnow? becomes more than just a place for me to show off. I hope that it becomes a place where others can share their dreams, schemes and in-betweens. Because that is usually where the truth is found, somewhere in between the diametrically opposed extremes that we are told represent most issues.
I also know that I am basically a lazy human being with more aspirations than applied perspiration. That is why my small homestead in Western Washington is called "The Lazy Jay Ranch", because I have always dreamed bigger than I have built. So this time I am not making any big promises. WhatDoWeKnow? will be only what I actually build.
I am hoping to send out a DART email about once a week, but I am not promising. So if you stay subscribed, you may get three DARTs in one day followed by three weeks of cyber-silence.
As for content, the DART promises only to be an accurate reflection of my unique perspective at a specific moment in time. Expect a widely erratic combination of funny, dramatic, frivolous, serious, intriguing, trivial, profound nonsense. I will not always score a bull's-eye, but I will always take my best shot.
As for you, let me know what you think. Let me know if I shouldn't post any of your comments, because I will otherwise consider your correspondence public. Let me know what you like and what you don?t. Got something you would like to share? Send in a submission. If I like it, I will post it in the DART. If I don't like it, get your own website and post it yourself. That is what the Internet is for, not just for multinational corporations to use to make even more money. Some things deserve to be on the Internet even if no one ever makes a dime from the effort.
